“The first time I came to BYUV in 2016, I thought I was signing up for an evening of hot yoga. Serendipitously, this night was the night the founder of Inferno Hot Pilates, Gabby, was teaching her first ever class at BYUV and the class was free to all. At first, I was hesitant about a new workout experience but after some friendly encouragement from the staff, I decided to stay and take the class. What followed was, in short, the hardest work out I had ever done! I distinctly remember being amazed at my ability to push myself way past my comfort zone and remember this night putting all my previous gym sessions to shame.
During the next 4 years and >300 classes, BYUV had become a significant part of my life in the upper valley. I always feel like I am visiting a close group of friends whenever I walk through the door. Especially after a stressful day at work, I can come to the IHP community at night and let out my frustrations in the healthiest way you can, a HARD and SWEATY workout! During the class, the teachers always say to “leave it all on your mat” and this such a great way to put it. I always leave the studio feeling WAY better than I did when I walked in and that is one of the main reasons I keep coming back after 3 years. I balance out the intensity of IHP+ (with weights and bands) with the endurance and stretching of hot yoga, and both have put me in the best shape of my life. No gym session can beat Jules and her awesome playlists and incredible workouts! :p Everyone encourages each other with high fives during IHP, it motivates you to push yourself that little extra, that extra that makes the world of difference in your fitness level.
Looking back, I realize me deciding to stay for Gabby’s class was a turning point for my physical fitness. The community at BYUV is a rare one :)
