With four different yoga classes on the schedule, there’s something for everyone!
Our FRC Focus this month is ribcage, scapula and breath. We’re psyched to get those scaps unstuck, ribcage expanding and breath flowing. Join us in Kinstretch & watch our tutorials for scap CARs and breathing exercises that will get you feeling ahhhhmazing.
Our Core Value for October is RESPECT. Every new student receives a packet at their first class that includes information about our Studio, including our Mission, Vision, and Core Values. These shape the way our classes our taught and how our community thrives. Respect is one of the *most* important of our five core values.
OUR YOGA CLASSES
Our yoga classes offer a unique experience, shaped by our collective 30+ years of teaching and passion for continuous learning. We don’t adhere to a single guru, method, or style; instead, we’ve evolved, embracing the diverse experiences that have brought us to where we are today.
We began as a Bikram yoga studio, where we were deeply committed to that community and its leaders, believing there was one way to teach and practice yoga. Many valuable lessons were learned, for which we are grateful. However, we are even more thankful that we choose to move past the fear-mongering, rigidity, and cult-like aspects.
Today our yoga classes reflect our passion for fun and playful movement patterns that challenge proprioception and balance. We focus on intelligent mobility work, paired with feel-good stretching. Each class is designed with a physical focus – hips, knees, ankles, scapula mobility, etc. combined with therapeutic breathing exercises and plenty of nourishing repetition for the nervous system.
We have four different yoga classes on the schedule, providing a different experience in each class type.
OHY– The OG, our first yoga class taught here at the Studio. Set sequence of postures so you can get familiar and gain confidence through each practice.
The Yoga– Our signature class combining yoga asana with functional movement.
Yin– Long holds, very much a work “in”. Getting quiet so you can tune in. When pain isn’t present but mild discomfort is, can you sit with it and observe your own reactions?
Flow– Fun, athletic sequencing to fully occupy your mind while you move and breath.
FRC FOCUS: SCAPS, RIBCAGE & BREATH
Do your scapula slide smoothly across your back & ribs? Ever notice sticky spots where one or both of your scaps get stuck? Not only is this restrictive, it’s also impacting your breathing! When the scapula adhere to the ribcage due to injury or lack of movement, it’s harder for the diaphram to expand to full potential, effectively decreasing the amount of oxygen you can bring to and expel from the lungs.

Join us for FREAKY FRIDAY on Halloween, 10/31. Dress up as your favorite Beetlejuice character and you’ll be entered to win a Studio water bottle full of treats! Each costumed student gets a ticket to enter. Winner will be picked after The Heavy (at noon) on Friday. Come get freaky with us!
