Watching others crush their goals and face their fears in class is what motivates me. Twenty years of teaching group fitness, I’ve been witness to endless miracles in the hot room and am constantly inspired to do better because of the people I teach and take class with.

Teaching and being part of classes and a community that people want to come back to over and over is so inspiring. The group energy is infectious and fun and people’s dedication to themselves is incredibly motivating both personally and professionally.

Andy joined the Studio in 2017 and immediately fell in love with IHP. He has since branched out and now regularly attends just about every type of class that is offered. Because of all the joy the studio gives to Andy, he wanted to give back to the studio. So beginning in 2018, Andy became the volunteer director of lighting and sound at the studio and has recently been promoted to associate director of weight rack installations, toilets, doorknobs and thermostats.

Movement and health are some of my lifelong passions and I feel fortunate to share those with this community of inspiring people. Coming together with common goals to heal, learn and grow is incredibly rewarding. When we take care of each other in this way, it has a positive impact on our own lives and ripples outward to the rest of the world.

I was initially drawn to the studio because of its welcoming community, the positive energy in the hot room, the challenging workouts, the approachability and encouragement of the teachers, and the variety of classes offered. Over the years, I have been inspired by the true grit of the studio members – people consistently showing up, putting in the work, and exploring their perceived limits. As a teacher, I am motivated by the importance of building and maintaining a healthy body; I firmly believe that what we do in the hot room allows us to live healthier and safer lives outside of the hot room. I enjoy combining my knowledge of the human body with exercise sequences to create fun, challenging, and effective workouts.

The feeling of community brought me through the doors of the Studio, and it continues to inspire me as a teacher. I’m constantly motivated by my colleagues and my students in their drive to be better, do better, and work harder for themselves. Feeling strong and laughing daily are two driving forces in my life – the Studio helps me to achieve them both on the regular.

Community, inclusivity, and finding joy through exercise have always been at my core. Teaching fitness classes is my way to inspire others to take care of themselves, both mentally and physically. I love that at the Studio everyone can find something: a good stretch, a new friend, or an intense workout. Feeling like we are all in it together is so rewarding.
