FRC: Spine
Mobility starts with the spine. The spine is the vertical network of bones, muscle and tendons that work in 6 movements; flexion, extension, lateral flexion (R/L) and rotation (R/L). It’s divided into 3 parts; cervical (neck), thoracic (mid-back), and lumbar (low back). We’ll be exploring spine mobility and strength in Kinstretch and weaving spine-focused movements into our yoga classes. Got a back that’s out of whack? Check out these spine-specific exercises your can do at home and join us for Kin every Wednesday at 9am.
Your body will thank you!
FRC: Hips
Let’s get those hippies moving and grooving. We’re looking for internal & external rotation of the femur in the hip socket, along with flexion & extension. Can’t find one of these movements? We got you! Try these Hip CARs and come see us in Kin to see how your hips work, and if they’re not working optimally, how you can improve.
FRC: Scaps, Ribcage & Breath
Do your scapula slide smoothly across your back & ribs? Ever notice sticky spots where one or both of your scaps get stuck? Not only is this restrictive, it’s also impacting your breathing! When the scapula adhere to the ribcage due to injury or lack of movement, it’s harder for the diaphram to expand to full potential, effectively decreasing the amount of oxygen you can bring to and expel from the lungs. Want to free up those scaps and get some good rib expansion going?
